My name is Will Blackstock, I own a river and outdoor adventure company based in Terlingua called Further Adventures. I was also born and raised in Terlingua, went to school there, have family there, and have family roots and property in the area dating back over 100 years. As you can see, this page is currently hosted on our company website, Further Adventures.

My intention with this ad-hock organization is is to rally the business community to make a joint statement against the wall and provide some information in the process. With the input of a few other local businesses, I have written up a draft document for that statement, which is attached here. The tone and statements are meant to be factual, non-partisan and to reflect the unity across the political spectrum in opposing this physical wall.

The idea for this group and statement came from sort of gut feeling that the business community should band together, but was then supported by requests and conversations from national organizations and news outlets.

To be clear, I don’t see this as a competing entity to https://nobigbendwall.org, which seems to be the leader in local organization. Our intention is not for this to become a non-profit or to redirect any attention or funding from already existing groups that are doing great work. I see this as starting with this simple statement and then seeing how we can work together in unity going forward. While everyone on this email is an outfitter, I would love for this to eventually include any other Big Bend area businesses that want to support it and sign on.

We currently have 75 signers just from south Brewster County, so I feel very confident that this can reach a few hundred businesses if we can effectively get the word out. With that kind of support I feel that this would be a powerful statement from the business community and is even something that could be presented at the capitol on April 4th.
